This study was conducted in a primary school in Taipei where an intangible cultural heritage workshop on lantern was carried out. In this activity, pupils would make traditional lanterns to learn its basic technique and understand traditional lantern culture. An effective approach to arts education was also explored in the perspective of inheriting traditional culture. In the end, the learning outcome was evaluated through generic learning outcomes (GLOs) and questionnaire. The study showed that "Knowledge and Understanding"scored the highest, and Activity, Behavior and Progression, Skills and Enjoyment/Inspiration/Creativity improved significantly. Besides, girls improved more significantly than boys. Traditional arts educations activities were expected to be expanded to provide beneficial experience for protecting, inheriting and studying intangible cultural heritage. |
