Afterwards of a symposioum: Exhibiting the Intangible Cultural Heritage in a Museum

A symposium on "Exhibiting the Intangible Cultural Heritage In a Museum" took place at Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey, between the dates of March 4 and 6, 2004. At the symposium, several papers were presented on subjects such as the meaning of intangible cultural heritage, the reasons why it has to safeguarded, how it can be safeguarded, how those products of folklore regarded as intangible cultural heritage can be exhibited in a museum, the conditions of museums in Turkey, and what can be done to create more modern, attractive and effective museums in which the exhibition of intangible cultural heritage might take place.
