Resumen |
The article discusses the most valuable aspects of the intangible cultural heritage of the Region of Warmia. In 2011, Poland signed the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, and in 2016, the Warmian dialect was placed on the Polish Intangible Cultural Heritage List as a carrier of oral tradition. The article discusses various forms of folk culture that deserve protection in Warmia, including the local dialect, folk songs, performance arts, and traditional arts and crafts. Folk ensembles, amateur theaters, cultural and community projects that preserve and popularize local traditions are discussed with numerous references to scientific and popular-scientific literature. The article also describes the formal requirements for placing cultural artefacts and phenomena on the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. |
