Innovative application of intangible cultural heritage elements of shadow play in digital field design

Shadow play is a treasure of the traditional Chinese opera art, as well as a national intangible cultural heritage. It integrates fine arts, music, dance, drama and crafts, and has high artistic and cultural value. However, the inheritance and development of shadow play are facing many difficulties. In this paper, we discuss the artistic characteristics and cultural connotation of the intangible cultural heritage, as well as the application of the intangible cultural heritage elements of shadow play in the digital field. First, the artistic characteristics of shadow play are taken as the research object, and the essence of shadow play elements are fully understood through modern illustration means. Second, the classic drama characters are reproduced by showing the appearance of different characters, body posture and background transformation. Finally, we use the advantages of modern CG illustration technology, such as layer composition, light and shadow effects, dynamic effects, etc., to combine the intangible elements of Chinese shadow play with modern illustration style. The design effect shows that the proposed method can create a unique visual effect, which can not only reveal the artistic charm of shadow play, but also meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the public, providing a new way and possibility for the promotion and inheritance of shadow play art.
