Practice of warps traction craft in design of sichuan brocade

Intangible cultural heritage marches fiom the protection and inheritance to the innovation. Under such trend, the application principle of warps traction in Sichuan brocade is taken as the research object to define two types for it. By means of literature review and chart analysis, this paper expounds the evolution of this craft in different historical periods. Through the creation practice of "pattern of southern silk road ". this paper analyzes the design route of Sichuan brocade by taking technique extraction as the entry point. The research points out that the craft of warps traction has the vitality of advancing with the times, and the design innovation should be rooted m the correct interpretation and proper application of the ancient craft. To create the works bearing ancient silk weaving craft and contemporary cultural self-confidence by combining modem brocade crafts is an important way to activate intangible cultural heritage m the new era.
