This paper refers to the study of local crafts and artisanal fishing in the Carnaubal community (Municipality of Luis Correia, Piaui, Brazil) as factors for sustainable development of tourism. The methodology used to conduct this study was descriptive and exploratory research, a qualitative approach, in consultation with literature books, periodicals in general and specialized sites, field research, as well as the description of the perception of fishermen and artisans with respect to tourism through pictures and descriptive categories. It is demonstrated, the characterization of artisanal and fishing developed in the community. It was also found that both the artisans and fishermen have the desire to work with tourism and said that their activities are exercised really attractive for tourism. For its peculiar characteristics and known worldwide for being the craft production plays an important role for the communities that produce them, becoming one of the key features of sustainable development of tourism, and adds to its historical and cultural values precepts. |
