Résumé

In this article, the author analyzes the appellation of origin, protected as an object of intellectual property and also protected as a cultural heritage. She researches the motivation that has led some States to declare it as a cultural heritage. Especially, she tries to clarify if both regimes overlap or complement each other and studies the advantages and disadvantages of those regimes in Argentine law.
