A Study on the Characteristics of Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival Seoul, Gyeonggi, Daejeon in 2018

According to the Cultural Heritage Administration(2018), the recognition and interest of intangible cultural heritage is lower than the recognition and interest of tangible cultural or natural heritage. In order to raise the awareness and interest of intangible cultural heritage of the people, the activation of intangible cultural properties is considered to be important. The purpose of this study is to derive the types, elements and factors of festivals and to identify the characteristics of the festival through “2018 Gyeonggi Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival”, “2018 Seoul Intangible Cultural Festival” and “Daejeon Intangible Cultural Heritage Existing Public Event” As a research method, field research was carried out and the following results were obtained. First, the types of festivals, “2018 Gyeonggi Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival”, “2018 Seoul Intangible Cultural Festival”, and “Daejeon Intangible Cultural Heritage Existing Event” were divided into special-purpose traditional history festivals and cultural welfare-type cultural art festivals. The elements of the festival are educational and recreational experiences, and the factors include amusement, dynamics, place, and divinity. As such, the types, elements and factors of Korean intangible cultural heritage festivals can be used as basic data for the direction of vitalization of intangible cultural heritage.
