For the safeguarding of documentary heritage important projects have been launched to digitize the documentary collections of many public and private institutions around the world. With two objectives: expand and free access of these funds to a growing community of users, and assist in the preservation of original documents. However, the particular case of global pandemic produced since 2020, which large part of the world s population has been forced into confinement, and prevented access to material repositories. Forces us to a series of reflections with regard to the viability of information dematerialization projects, based on the new daily life. In this work, we present the ARTEFAC project (ARchivar, TiErra del Fuego according to Anne Chapman), which concerns a particular type of documentary heritage, what we call the archives of science, from the example of the archives of the researcher Anne Chapman (1922-2010), who dedicated a large part of his life to research on indigenous peoples from the extreme south of America. |
