Abstract

Museums have continued to evolve and respond to their social, cultural and economic contexts. In particular, digital technology is tremendously beneficial to the dissemination of their cultural heritage by means of the efficient documentation as well as entertaining presentations. The advent of the digital age and the expansion of the public’s desire for interaction, in turn, challenge a range of insights into the ways in which museums present information to visitors and their responses to it. As the expectation of visitors rises with regards to interaction, immersive experiences and storytelling have become buzzwords in the museum community. Applying various immersive approaches, a museum can afford rich unforgettable experiences to visitors and in turn they can grow from spectators to active cultural pro-consumers.
