A Study on the Globalization of Pansori

This study aims at finding out the possibility and method of pansori globalization. Pasori was designated as a masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO in 2003. This will be a very important opportunity to promote pansori to the world. So I proposed three steps of pansori globalization in this study. The 1st step is the stage of cognition. It is defined as a stage of intellectual cognition of the subjects about pansori. The 2nd step is the stage of amusement. This is the stage that people cultivate their ability to understand pansori emotionally so that they can enjoy it.The 3rd step is the stage of practice. This is defined as the stage that people can make the best use of pansori. and create the new arts. I tried to find out the solutions about the obstacles of pansori globalization, such as abstruse language, inimitable character of the sound which is the main media of pansori, characteristic neoreumsae(gesture) that is not formalized, absence of musical note, absence of dramaturgy.The solutions of pansori globalization are suggested as follows. They are aiming globalization by popularization, public performance and introduce using translation of pansori literature, using changgeuk(pansori theatre) with feasts, various attempts of crossover with other genre, using Korean residents abroad as a base camp for pansori globalization, establishing special institute for pansori.In addition, I suggest pansori globalization should contribute to the world peace using pansori as a media of comprehensive transaction between nations and cultures.
