Abstract |
Forming part of the research "The Politicity of Don Carnal: Political Readings of Festivals and Carnivals in Latin America", this article forwards, through a critical perspective, cultural and economic approaches in order to answer the question: in the debate on the structural formation and problems of development in Latin America, what catergories, approaches and authors are relevent to addressing the topic of festivals and carnivals as an intangible heritage? This question does not preclude, however, to the use of authors, approaches and categories from the culturalist literature, which will be drawn upon along with relevant works from the world of NGOs and International Cooperation. |
