As one of the national intangible cultural heritages, the embroidery pattern of “Panwang’s Seal” of Ruyuan Yao nationality in northern Guangdong province is quite characteristic. The iconology study method was used to interpret the constitution form, theme background and cultural connotation of “Panwang’s Seal” from three levels of "preliminary iconography analysis", "iconography analysis" and "iconology interpretation". The study shows that the "Panwang’s Seal" has a rigorous organizational structure, which fully demonstrates its sacredness and stateliness. Its origin is closely related to the ancestor Panwang, and it is the carrier to express the life customs, worship ideas and national emotions of the people in Ruyuan Yao Nationality. Deeply excavating the cultural connotation embodied in the embroidery pattern of "Panwang’s Seal" of Ruyuan Yao Nationality is of great significance for further understanding and exploring the unique local ethnic culture. |
