Pattern analysis of Huangmei cross-stitch square scarf

There are many types of Huangmei cross-stitch, a national intangible cultural heritage. The research object of this paper is the scarf, which is the most widely used representative product. Facing the gradual disappearance of Huangmei cross-stitch culture in the process of modernization, it is urgent to collect typical cross-stitch products in time and conduct in-depth research. In this paper, through field investigation, 113 pictures of cross-stitch square scarves are collected. Most of the samples are of traditional style and a few are of modern style. the pattern of Huangmei cross-stitch scarf is deeply analyzed from three aspects: shape structure, color application and theme implication. The close relationship between Huangmei cross-stitch scarf as a folk art and local culture is clarified. This study provides a reference for grasping the authentic Huangmei cross-stitch culture and realizing its contemporary inheritance and value transformation.
