Abstract

As a unique folk embroidery variety in Yangzhou, pray hag is home decoration that local people hang outside mosquito net for wedding ceremony, which has the functions of decorating living space and praying for prosperity of children. This study is mainly on analysis of form, pattern and color of pray hag in Yang/Jiou by combining physical evidence with philological research, aiming to reveal the folk aesthetic connotation contained in prav bag by interpreting its appearance. The study, as the basic theory construction of traditional embroidery innovation application in Yangzhou, is of certain practical significance to inheriting and carrying forward Yangzhou folk intangible cultural heritages.
