Las mujeres y las actividades marítimas en el País Vasco: trabajo portuario y ámbito pesquero (1700-1950)

The women have been always present in the maritime world and have contributed his organizational capacity in the economic and social activities of t his area, not only as workforce but also as wives, daughters or widows of sailors and fishermen. In sp ite of this reality, the feminine work has remained relegated to a background without the recognition t hat is deserved. In this work an approximation has been realized to the labors of the women inside the port and fishing communities of the Basque country.
