According to our government statistics, Japanese restaurants have become so popular in the global market that the number of Japanese restaurants world wide has increased from 24,000 in 2006 to 55,000 stores in 2013. Their growth is expected to promote by the fact that Japanese cuisine was admitted as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO in 2013. In contrast to the popularity of Japanese restaurants, we have a serious problem that our aging demographics will cause our food industry market shrink. So, Japanese food and agriculture sectors are desperately seeking for their market into the foreign countries, particularly, emerging Asian countries. This report deliberate about the potential of Japanese food industries along with the growth of the Japanese restaurants or food service sectors, focusing primarily on the Japanese seafood industry with case studies of Russia and Singapore market. |
