This study was conducted to analyze the representation method of Jeju haenyeo appearing in TV human documentaries and the identity and value required of them. To this end, the five episodes of KBS \textlessHuman Theater\textgreater, which aired for 10 years from 2010, before and after Jeju Haenyeo was selected as a UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage, were covered by changes in the narrative structure and discourses of the haenyeo’s family and neighbors. It analyzed the values expressed in the perspective of work, the relationship and role within the family, and the community relationship at the village level. As a result, the Jeju haenyeo reproduced in \textlessThe Human Theater\textgreater is a worker who is compliant with the norms, is diligent, and places importance on productivity, and at the same time is a mother who is required to sacrifice by doing’work-housework-nurture-bringing’ at home, By forming and maintaining a community, they were portrayed as members of their lives. In addition, the inheritance of cultural heritage and the protection of community norms appearing in the text were acting as a mechanism to reduce the lives of Jeju haenyeo individuals or to consolidate their existing roles. In the conclusions and limitations, the results of this analysis are discussed and suggestions for further research are included.
