Inheritance and Prospects of Jiangsu s Music Intangible Cultural Heritage

Intangible cultural heritage is a reservoir of folk customs. Music intangible cultural heritage is a vivid reflection of these folk customs. Jiangsu s music intangible cultural heritage is an outstanding representative of China s music intangible cultural heritage. However, with the passage of time, it is disappearing. It is an issue of great concern about how to carry forward it. This paper discusses new characteristics of Jiangsu s music intangible cultural heritage in the modern era and gives a detailed introduction of its types. At the end of this paper, the author looks into the future of Jiangsu s music intangible cultural heritage, and provides some suggestions for better protection and inheritance. It is hoped that this research can promote protection and inheritance of other music intangible cultural heritage as well.
