Resumen

This text revolves around how traditional textile work carried out by women is once again on the rise in the context of contemporary art made with textile techniques and materials and has transcended individual creations, giving rise to interesting and successful proposals for participation and co-creation in different contexts, social groups, with people of different ages,as well as inside and outside the classrooms. Therefore, due to the relevance that these practices of collective artistic creation are achieving, we are going to focus on presenting 6 different projects that have taken place in recent years and in different countries (Colombia, Spain and the United States). The aim of our contribution is to highlight the importance of artistic creation as a means of communication and expression, both personal and collective, as well as to promote a real social transformation, of resilience and living memory from local heritage and knowledge and through the creativity and the art.
