Resumen

Using the creation of the Department of Audiovisual Documentation and Presentation of Intangible Cultural Heritage at the Gorica Museum in Nova Gorica as an example, the author shows how very recent the audiovisual activity still is in museums - despite the fact that we are surrounded by the e-civilization. By using this specific example as an illustration she also draws attention to the various dilemmas, problems, and diversity that arise during the process of creation of audiovisual documentation, its presentation, and its archiving. Audiovisual materials in museums represent a rich fund that contains a wealth of diverse data on the intangible heritage. On the one hand they are available for research purposes; on the other they convey heritage data to the general public. In addition to their archival function, the most meaningful public mission of the audiovisual materials within a museum is their ability of communication and presentation to the general public.
