D.R.A.G. (Dressing Resembling A Galician): Condiciones identitarias del traje regional en España

Starting from the figure of the peliqueiro of Laza and the Galician Entroido, this article addresses the mechanisms of identity construction around regional costume in Spain. In this way, new research strategies and symbolic surplus values are proposed through sewing practices and the embodiment of traditional clothing; tactics and artistic production that appear as research methodologies. Each stitch can be a new lens through which to read the story of the traditions of our country. From the wearer’s body, different perspectives on the visual establishment of folkloric imaginaries in Spain would be offered. In this case, a theory of origin is proposed for these Ourensan masquerades and reflections on issues such as the identity language of costumes, the evolution and construction of rites and customs, or the malleable analysis of eternal traditions. Partiendo de la figura del Peliqueiro de Laza y el Entroido gallego, este artículo aborda los mecanismos de construcción identitaria alrededor de la indumentaria regional en España. Se proponen así estrategias de investigación y generación de plusvalía simbólica a través de la costura y el acuerpamiento del traje; tácticas y producciones artísticas que aparecen cómo metodologías de indagación. Cada puntada será una nueva lente a través de la cual leer el cuento de las tradiciones de nuestro país. Desde el cuerpo ataviado, se podrán ofrecer diferentes perspectivas sobre el establecimiento visual de los imaginarios folclóricos en España. En este caso, se propone un estudio para estas mascaradas ourensanas y se muestran reflexiones sobre el lenguaje identitario del traje, la evolución y construcción de ritos costumbristas en España y el análisis maleable de tradiciones eternas.
