A Study On Research Trends Related to Ssireum

The purpose of this study is to analyze the dissertation on Ssireum, which was registered as UNESCO s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2019, to examine the historical significance of existing Ssireum-related research. I searched. Korea Ssireum, which has a long history, has been a representative body culture in Korea that has enjoyed a lot of popularity so far, and a lot of research has been conducted. As a result of analyzing the research on Ssireum, in the 1970s, when the study was first started, a study to explore its value as an item of physical education was conducted, and in the 1980s, various desires for areas that could manage it as a professional sports were expressed. It was possible to look at the progress of the studies.Since then, the popularity of Ssireum declined in the early 2000s, but it reached a period of leap forward again from 2006, and during this period, it was possible to consider the progress of studies using various academic methods. It can be seen that the current Ssireum event was clearly recognized as the subject of research in Korean physical education. However, as a global body culture, studies comparing similar body cultures of other regions with kinematic and cultural homogeneity and originality have not yet been conducted, and for this, the development of a research method that can be compared with body cultures of other regions is required.
