Resumen |
This paper addresses Slovene polka music, based on traditional Slovene dance music. This music, which is practiced today in Slovenia as well as abroad, has few apparent characteristics, presented as research issue in the paper. Its informal use as dance music has led it to commodification. Due to that, it underwent changes both in musical text as well as in the way it was presented to the public, particularly regarding gender representations. |
