The purpose of this thesis is to consider how Songseo and Yulchang has beentransmitting to next generations and to find their hidden educational values and ways topractise them. Recent transmissions of Songseo and Yulchang are mainly through itspreservation societies after them being designated as Gyeonggido Intangible CulturalHeritage(No.54, 2011) and Seoul Intangible Cultural Heritage(No.41, 2009). Through theresearch of its educational values and practice, I have drawn results as follows ;First, Songseo and Yulchang have their great potential values that can be applied inmusic education. To maximize the educational effect in music, it is needed to develop moreeducational contents for the users and spread them to more users, to train manpower toeducate them, and to have continuing education for the lecturers or teachers of them. Thekey here is to develop decent textbooks in order to be more efficient for Songseo andYulchang as educational content in music. It is quite essential to develop state-of-the-artmaterials and apply them to first teenagers then expand to others. To have a thicker andstronger band of teachers of Songseo and Yulchang, appropriate support and assessmentsystems are necessary for training the teachers of Songseo・Yulchang and re-training forthose who need it among the teachers in a virtuous cycle.Second, I have found another educational potential of Songseo and Yulchang in thesubject of literature. Songseo and Yulchang are based on literature texts from ancient tomodern times. Especially expressions in contemporary literatures, such as Hanguel poem orHanguel prose, can be very effective materials for literature education of Songseo andYulchang as well.Third, the last hidden value that the thesis disserts in Songseo-Yulchang is in ethicseducation. The first step of this is to attempt to produce online courses of ethics Since theteenage learners are fairly accustomed to use multimedia materials, video lecture programsof ethics will comparatively easily appeal to them if the online lecturers are familiar withthem. When the researchers of the courses can advance up to “storytelling” level of theprogram, it is projected to magnify greatly of its educational effect of the subject. Furtherstep in the ethics education through Songseo and Yulchang is to perform experienceprograms along with study courses of them. By experiencing the practice programs, studentscan exercise and learn Songseo and Yulchang actively through their participations. That isto say that they first study the theoretical contents of Songseo and Yulchang and carry outthe experience programs of them.To conclude, this dissertation mainly claims that how Songseo and Yulchang have beentransmitted so far and how we can find and maximize the values of them througheducational process. To gain full implementation and satisfying result from it of Songseoand Yulchang, it is quite necessary to encourage that the various educational institutesshould cooperate one another to study, develop and verify the suggested programs above sothat the learners can see the realization of educational effects themselves. |
