The Roles of Visual Folklore for Inheritance and Preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage

This paper tried to explore the role of Visual Folklore for inheritance and preservation of intangible heritage. First, this paper brought up some possibilities of the Visual Folklore that can boost up the expansion of not only research methods but the domains. Then, it claimed the merits of the utilization of recording media with visual research methods. Finally, the paper emphasized that the results on various digital media would be the efficient approach to research about intangible heritage. Therefore, both the various methods of the recording and the analysis of the results with these methods would be resounded through this paper. Folklore is a discipline with a unique research method, thus, academic interest and efforts according to this interest may be needed so that the application and utilization of visual folkloristic research method will help to maintain the inheritance and preservation of intangible heritage efficiently.The emergence of Visual Folklore can help us with various digital techniques and visual communication including both recording practices of intangible heritage and research methods in the field of Folklore.This paper suggested a new way of research methods in Folklore. The roles of Visual Folklore can play one of the main roles in the field of Folklore through analyzing the process of archiving the intangible heritage and associated research methods.
