The Research on Bianjing s Folk Sports ActivitiesOf the Northern Song Dynasty

During the Northern Song Dynasty, the structure of Bianjing city had slipped the leash for urban structure of "Square City" in Chang an, Tang Dynasty; what became the most unprecedented and flourishing city at that time, with the largest population, diversified physical activities. According to the variety of characteristics, pictures and historical relic records, it is considered that most of the activities were developed in Northern Song Dynasty, which was full of historical and cultural value. This is a research on collection for kinds of folk activities that flourished in Bianjing when the Northern Song Dynasty, by using of literature data, survey and interview, logic inductiveness and other methods. In order to make a clear and complete system for folk sports activities, here is a classification for it by the group theory on Science of Physical Culture and sports. It can not only promote Chinese folk activities culture, innovate and use for fitness in the future, but also protect the intangible cultural heritage and keep the valuable reference for Chinese athletic sports.
