The Paltan Folk Song, which had been cut off from the tradition, formed the Local Folk Song Preservation Society in 2016 with the aim of restoring the local folk song. Since then, the group has carried out various activities such as educational projects for elementary schools in the region and performances in the region and reenactment of rice paddy farming, based on the training activities of conservation members of the Preservation Society. The use of local intangible cultural heritage as an educational material in schools can bring about educational effects beyond the meaning of localized education emphasized by the social department. In this article, the meaning of the Paltan Folk Song as an educational material was revealed and the educational plan was looked at with primary education at the center. The 2015 revised elementary school curriculum and textbook analysis work focused on the curriculum and the music department provided educational measures to examine the meaning and value of the material of education and to save the important values of folk songs, liquidity and creativity, which are simply summarized as follows.Based on the contents of the curriculum of the 2015 revised elementary social studies and music departments, and the social localization textbook for third graders and the contents and activities related to rice farming songs covered in music textbooks, it was found that the Paltan folk songs contained sufficient value as educational materials. The music textbooks for third and sixth graders deal with more than 10 rice paddies, indicating that the contents and activities of the program can be guided by octane folk songs. As a creative way of expression, it suggested changing the singing style to overlap, changing the format, making and singing the lyrics, changing the lyrics, and receiving a percussion instrument. The activity of considering the characteristics of a piece of music and attempting various expressions to match it becomes an active singing of folk songs reflecting one s own thoughts and emotions. Instead of staying in passive folk songs and folk songs that copy the past, we will make it into our own songs and make it a song that lives not only in the present but also in the future. This is the purpose of folk music education in schools.
