Resumen

The Mediterranean Voices Project is a project dealing with intangible heritage in an urban context and was (part) funded by the European Commission until 31st March 2006. This paper will explore the educational consequences and responsibilities of this project. A dilemma invariably arises once these projects approach the end of their contract. One question to ask is: what to do with the material once it has been collected? Bearing in mind that culture is constantly on the move, being used, interpreted, adapted, and lived, the discussion will focus on the development and uses of courses on Mediterranean Voices for the University of Malta, on the project itself and its central themes,1 as well as reviewing a number of outputs generated by the project and their social relevance.
