The Grass cloth waist loom with single harness and single treadle is generally applied in Wanzai Jiangxi, Rongchang Chongqing, and other places. Based on the dictation of Grass cloth skill inheritor in Wanzai Jiangxi, the structure of Grass cloth waist loom was annotated in detail, and its weaving technology principle was revealed. Based on the features of loom opening, from the initial stage of the original waist loom, the transition period of waist cloth loom with single harness and single treadle in Ming dynasty to the formation period of the modern Grass cloth waist loom, the technical origin of Grass cloth waist loom was collated. It is believed that the application of Grass cloth waist loom is universal and practical, and its model is in the process of development and continuity. The waist ridge is used to control the warp tension; foot tread is used for hand-raising opening, and the hit is improved to beating. It thus becomes a special loom suitable for Grass cloth weaving, which has a direct relation with the characteristics of Grass cloth.
