Study on the Inheritance and Protection of the Heluo Drum as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of China

Heluo drum, as a state-level intangible cultural heritage, is a symbol of the ethnic culture in Heluo of China. Heluo drum was a folk art form with extremely local characteristics, which emerged on the basis of the qin-storytelling in Heluo in 1905 and combined with Gu Er Heng in Nanyang. In China, Heluo drum had a history of more than 100 years, and had undergone its era of prosperity through the joint efforts of five generations. Nowadays, with the development of era and science and technology, the people s aesthetic value orientation is being impacted by foreign culture and new values, so that Heluo drum is faced with the crisis of extinction plus the change of its existence space. In this paper, the inheritance history of China s Heluo drum is briefly introduced, and also the current ecological situation, inheritance, and protection of Heluo drum are analyzed.
