Review and Prospect of Geographers Research into Pungsu in Korea

This paper reviews and prospects on the geographers research into Pungsu in Korea. I discussed arguing points on the Korean Pungsu that the origin of Geomancy(Fengshui), the Pungsu theory system of Korean Pungsu. Korean Pungsu is required socio-cultural approach, as it were, how it has been practiced historically rather than the Pungsu theory itself. For being ranked as one of the modern academic studies, Pungsu should be based in the universal knowledge and the logical system to be able to communicate other studies mutually. Korean Pungsu research is also requested to concentrate on the times subjects in response to the social demand. In these days, Pungsu is estimating as a potential world intangible heritage in a field of the traditional environmental-ecological knowledge system in East Asia. Korean Pungsu research needs to be extended toward East Asia and global scale from the perspective of what are the Korean Pungsu identity and characteristics.
