The folklore of Chinese ethnic minorities offers valuable insights into the relationship between gender roles and ethnic identity. As key participants in cultural preservation and innovation, women play a crucial role in maintaining the resilience of minority traditions amidst social changes. This study focuses on ethnic minority women to explore their symbolic roles in rituals, traditional clothing, and artistic expressions. Combining historical document analysis and fieldwork, it employs qualitative methods to analyze traditional songs, dances, and oral histories from various communities. The findings reveal that women not only inherit cultural practices but also innovate by integrating traditional gender roles with modern influences, driving cultural adaptation and cohesion. This research underscores the pivotal role of women in shaping minority folklore and offers broader insights into the dynamics of cultural integration in a diverse society.
