Speaking of Cultural Heritage sometimes refers to the past of peoples and their splendor, however, in recent decades and as a result of the application of the 2030 Agenda, issued by the UN, the generation of strategies for achieve sustainable development. The objective of this text is to show a proposal from the discipline of graphic design, taking up the approach of «Slow Design» to form a methodological theoretical scaffolding, applied in cases of safeguarding the intangible heritage of Latin American peoples. The antecedents that are considered for this proposal are the works from UNESCO, as well as the work developed by Hilario Topete and Laura Arizpe in the specific case of Mexico. It is developed in some sections where, at first, the concept of heritage is described, its types and interactions from the perspective of the designer, later the theory of sustainability applied to design is explained, finding slow design as an approach to work the needs of vulnerable peoples in Latin America and finally a case worked from the experience of the designer is presented.
