Resumen

A teratologic study was conducted regarding mythological beings belonging to myths and legends from San Juan de los Remedios, and it was diagnosed that Remedian mythology is different from classic, precolombian, and African mythology. Thirty eight malformations were observed, the most prevalent was Gigantism, and the body region presenting more malformations was the head. Malformed beings were not adoration figures, or represented a sign of augury for the political or social life of the Villa with the major mythological bestiary in Cuba.
