We will emphasize the relevance of the "servants and maids" of the Divino Espirito Santo de Mazagao Velho (Amapa), as well as the memory, orality and cultural transmission of the Afro-diasporic legacy of Mazagan, as it is a religious celebration in which the coronation of the Empress over a hundred years ago. Despite the protagonism of the party is given to a female, racial and plural corpus composed of heterogeneous and intergenerational black women. In view of the nature of the research, we opted for the theoretical-bibliographic study and for the participative investigation that allowed us to live in loco with and in the community devoted to the Divine. For the collection of empirical data, the semi-structured interview with members of the Brotherhood and observation. As a result, we found evidence of ritualistic practices born from the overlap between Christian-Catholic and Afro-Amapaense beliefs. The devotees of the Brotherhood aim to safeguard and protect the feast of the Holy Spirit from erasure and historical oblivion.
