Management itineraries of the historical-documentary heritage of music in Cuba [Itinerarios de la gestión del patrimonio histórico-documental de la música en Cuba]

In Cuba, most of the studies on musical heritage address the musical-dance expressions that are part of the country s intangible heritage. But the documents related to musical practice in the nation must be of equal importance, of which there is no operational term and legislation to ensure their management. This limits the rescue actions that must be the prime object, being pertinent to go through the management itineraries followed by the Esteban Salas Cabinet of Musical Heritage, the Center for Research and Development of Cuban Music, as well as the National Museum of Music; three of the most important Cuban institutions dedicated to the rescue of the historical-documentary heritage of music in the nation. In this way, it seeks to ensure its safeguarding for the benefit of present and future generations.
