This paper analyzes the most representative manifestations of the ICH at Plato town, Magdalena-Colombia, from the process of participatory inventory developed through ethnographic work, participatory workshops, and in-depth interviews, which allowed identifying with the community the situations that jeopardize the sustainability of the manifestations and create safeguard strategies. Also, a discussion is generated on the categories of Folklore and ICH, and a reflection on the questions: to what extent are the ICH inventories are building safeguard tools? Are inventions really supporting and strengthening the social capacity of cultural heritage management? |
