Development of Performing Arts Contents: Focusing on Suyeong-yaryu

This study was to develop the performance contents focus on Suyeong-yaryu. Suyeong-yaryu is a folk game that represents the country as well as the region. It is a mask play that includes folklore, entertainment, games, and entertainment, which has been formed naturally and handed down among people. Suyeong-yaryu has local ideas and culture, but it has changed little by little with the times and the environment. This change is not only a change in swimming wild, but a trend of intangible cultural heritage. Therefore, this study intended to suggest a way to pass on tradition and develop local culture by developing Suyeong-yaryu performance contents. The result were as follows. First, Suyeong-yaryu performance contents have changed little. Second, problems of developing performances content were due to lack of recognition of performance content, lack of recruitment of professional personnel, and lack of stable policy support in Suyeong-yaryu. Third, the necessity of changing from circular conservation to typical preservation, and the creation of theme streets in connection with local commercial districts proposed as a method for developing Suyeong-yaryu performance contents.
