Abstract

This article mobilizes the (trans)disciplinary heritage of (public) folklore, folklore studies, "volkskunde" for the new safeguarding intangible cultural heritage paradigm of UNESCO. It emphasizes the importance of cultural brokerage, mediation and facilitation. It results in a contribution to critical heritage studies.
