Abstract

Several basic approaches to defining the notion of cultural values are given. An example of international and national acts in the field of the protection of cultural values is considering how these approaches are implemented in normative practice. The analysis of the main international conventions concerning the normative definition of the totality of objects of legal protection, which make up the category \textless\textless cultural values \textgreater\textgreater, was analyzed. It is established that such objects are cultural heritage on the land, underwater cultural heritage, intangible cultural heritage, natural heritage, including works of landscape architecture and garden art, moving cultural values. The emphasis on the term \textless\textless mobility \textgreater\textgreater is explained by practical considerations, namely, that the peculiarities of the legal protection of such values are connected, above all, with the prevention of their illegal movement, including those related to theft.
