TY - JOUR AU - Stephanie Castiblanco Molina AB - The objective of this research proposal is to carry out an exhibition project in addition to document and evidence the tangible and intangible heritage of the community of San Basilio de Palenque (Colombia), paying special attention to the Lumbalú ritual as a way of analyzing aspects of the social imaginary and community values that are represented in this funeral ceremony. Lumbalú, as a funeral ritual, has been passed down from generation to generation since the time of slavery and safeguards the African cultural tradition of death. Its dissemination is necessary in order to bring the country’s multiculturalism closer to society, thus serving to make a contribution from the museography to the past and present of this community and as an example of any other.
