Necessity of using education and educational technology tools to solve problems about reduction of cultural diversity and safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage due to globalization is highlighted in the Operational Directives and in the education article (14th) of the “Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage” which is accepted by UNESCO in 2003 and Turkey became one of the States Parties in 2006. Instead of focusing on the negative effects of globalization, with a different perspective to see globalization as a process that helps to protect cultures and reaching the younger generations via using educational technology tools and creating new educational materials can be helpful solutions that will help teaching ICH. In this article, according to the UNESCO’s predicted educational approach, constructivist approach, educational technology and one of the educational technology applications which is “WebQuests” are explained. Also, a sample WebQuest is prepared on “Intangible Cultural Heritage” unit in 6th grade Folk Culture course which is an elective course in the Ministry of Education. In this study, to create a new method that can be applied in Turkey with the interdisciplinary perspective to transfer the cultural heritage to the younger generations as specified in the convention; to create awareness about the subject; also to show in what way the teachers, who teach or will teach Folk Culture course beside the other subject teachers who like to teach ICH, can do different practices via using educational technologies are aimed.
