TY - JOUR AU - Yu Sek AB - Korea has been rapidly heading to a multi-cultural society as the increase of foreign workers, international students. international marriage and immigrated children causing from the industry reorganization. However, there was no depth discussion about an education of traditional culture even if it is the most important part for multi-cultural families being adapted to a Korean society. Therefore, a study offers several methods for effective education of traditional culture by using video materials based many cases of experienced countries about multi-culture before Korea. As everyone knows, Korea has many video materials produced by The National Intangible Heritage Center, KBS and Arirang TV since 1960’s.The study extends Korea’s traditional culture to community culture, a play, food, clothing, shelter and bitter memories called Han with resonable video materials. Related to community culture, a study provides videos of traditional Korean farmer music ‘Nong-ak’, sheaf burning, tug-of-war, ancestral rites and traditional marriage. Regarding to food, clothing and shelter, a study covers Nubijang, Royal cuisine, Daemokjang and Jewajang(Roof Tile Making). The study presents ‘Namsadang Nori’, tightrope, Arirang, Hahoe Pyolshingut Mask Dance and Bukcheong Saja noreum dance which would be effective for multi-cultural families to understand Korean culture.Lastly, the study consists of ‘Han’ with video materials such as a shaman ritual for cleaning dead person’s soul, Pansori and a ceremony before boating. If Korea makes the best use of these video materials for education of traditional culture, it would be deeply supportive for multi-cultural families to be accustomed with Korean society beyond the cultural differences.
