The desired destination is reached after many days of walking with a minimal baggage across different villages and even countries with characteristic landscapes and customs. The pilgrimage on the Francigena route began since the medieval times, and the Tuscan segment is nowadays one of the most appreciated path for its natural beauties and its well conserved nutrition traditions.
