Abstract

The proclamation of the Misteri d’Elx as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2001 and the approval of the Law of the Misteri d’Elx in 2005 has created a new situation with regard to the organization and management of a representation with more than five hundred years of history. The public attention and media interest that has been generated and the new regulations of institutional operation, within the framework of a public administration with complex financial and bureaucratic tasks, causes the need to have a structure capable of responding to the new challenges that are generated in the environment of the Festa and that did not exist thirty or forty years ago. There is a greater technical need, with a multidisciplinary specialization that addresses different areas and that can order and channel all the challenges, institutional and public, that have arisen throughout the first two decades of the twenty-first century, especially in communication, financing, transparency and safeguarding.
