Abstract

UNESCO guidelines designate historic city centers, and natural spaces (such as the Amazon region or the Galapagos Islands), as World Heritage Sites. UNESCO also includes a variety of crafts, rituals, oral traditions, performing arts, and other cultural practices under the intangible cultural heritage categories. However, the organizational processes that nourish this intangible heritage in the communities have not had enough recognition. Therefore, this text offers insights about the community as a priority cultural heritage since its unique historical dynamic defines a substantial legacy for the pueblos’ identity.
