This article analyzes the participation of design in the safeguarding actions of the Inmaterial Cultural Heritage (ICH), in the field of traditional artisanal techniques.First talk about the design, conceptualization, practical and relationship with crafts.At once it conceptualizes the ICH, its areas and features as well as the need to safeguard special emphasis on the field of traditional practice, from this observe their relationships with others, such as “social practices, rituals and festive events”.In this way, the work that in the field of traditional artisanal techniques and artisanal practice can and has been carried out by the Design will be framed. This work also makes a recount of the research that the Academic Body of Design and Social Development has carried out in matters of safeguarding the ICH.
