Abstract

This document presents a characterization of traditional architecture in the department of Magdalena, based on five collective evaluations proposed according to common elements, either at the level of construction techniques, relationship with the surrounding natural environment, ethnic origin, historical events and socioeconomic binding or by symbolic values determined by the community of each municipality. The information was collected through heritage inventories following a mixed methodology, which includes elements of analysis and study of immaterial cultural assets, such as guidelines for documentation of intangible cultural heritage.
