TY - JOUR AU - Oh Semina AB - This study examines the National Intangible Cultural Properties public events held during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Since the spread of the pandemic public events by the Intangible Cultural Heritage(ICH) artisans were allowed without audience, often held replacement events, and cancellations were prevalent. The monitoring of these public events of the artisans showed many problems as well as some of its remedies. There was the artisan’s burden of worrying about public event cancellations, the reliability of evaluation experts, the feedback of monitoring results, and the sharing of ICH knowledge previous to the pandemic. The pandemic proved to give solutions to these problems. The ICH bearers were able to practice the public events in their own environment which allowed them to be meticulous in their craft. Those in the audience of the artisan’s public event actively communicated with the artisan. The recordings of the public event eventually made it out to the public domain allowing for exposure of the values of ICH. It is then important to look at public events of the artisans during catastrophic events like the Corona 19 pandemic to help solve common problems and provide alternative solutions.
